Solar Joules: n. Clean measures of electricity one can use with a clear conscience.
I’m Reggie Rasmussen (my friends call me Razmataz or just Raz) and I have created this forum to invite discussion, to raise awareness & to help find solutions to the environmentally hazardous practice of burning fossil fuels.
The most obvious way you and I will make a positive impact is by detaching ourselves from companies and practices that use carbon based fuels.
Obviously we can’t stop driving to work, we need to keep our lights on and run a refrigerator to see & feed our families, however there are alternatives.
Here you can be part of the solution. So bookmark www.solarjoules.com and when you have an idea or are looking for alternatives come back and join the discussion.
Looking forward to hearing your ideas and comments.

Hey Raz – I think that solar power is a great way to go and with it being cheaper than the rates currently being charged by the standard electric companies, and with no up front costs, people would be stupid not to take advantage of the opportunity once it becomes available.
Reservations should be made right away. Making a reservation does not obligate you to anything, but it does preserve your place in line when the product becomes available for distribution. Expected roll out is in the first quarter of 2008. Realisticly, 2nd quarter. As of the beginninning of August 2007, over 20,000 reservations have been made with no publicity. The manufacturing facility will be able to produce enough panals for about 50,000 homes. (capibility will be about double this but about 1/2 will be allocated for commercial). Once this idea hits the news, demand and reservations will be way beyond manufacturing capibilities for immediate installation. So make reservations early and decide later.
Also making a reservation will lock in todays prices. Those who wait until product is available may not only have very long waits, but they will have higher prices as prices are determined by the day the reservation is made. So, make your reservation early and do your research while you wait. Any questions? just post them here!
