A controversial new Solar Panel Rental System was embraced with enthusiasm by customers introduced to it by Reggie Rasmussen and two of his team members over the weekend at the Perris California Home Show.
Reggie and Ecoprenuers Steve Laurvick and Jorge Bernal signed up 100 applicants to the “Citizenre Forward Rental Application (FRA).”
“It was 100 on the nose,” said Reggie, “I don’t think they’ll believe me at corporate.”
Ecopreneurs like Reggie and his team members are rapidly expanding the potential client base of a company by the name of Citizenre. They are in the process of finding parties who are interested in renting solar panel systems with no upfront fees rather than buying solar systems out of pocket or financing sytems that cost $20,000 -$50,000.
During the show, Reggie was busy training team SolarJoules newest member Jorge, who signed 16 customers on Saturday breaking Rasmussen’s first day record of 14. On Sunday, Jorge added 14 more for a total of 30 new customers for the solar panel rental program.
“Should all houses qualify for our solution Jorge stands to earn $54,000 or more over the next 25 years from his first two days on the job ,” said Rasmussen, “Not bad for two days work.”
Customers have to get in line though. To date over 20,000 interested parties have signed up knowing they will have to wait close to a year for a Citizenre Solar Engineer to come to their house for an analysis.
If readers want to sign up they can do so at: www.SolarJoules.com
“This is a tremendously easy product to sell,” said Laurvick, “There are no upfront costs and for most of the customers of Southern California Edison here at the Perris show they will be saving $50-$175 a month when the solar system goes up on their property.”
You can become part of the SolarJoules solution too. “We are actively seeking out new Ecoprenuers and adding training material to the site all the time,” Reggie says, “If anyone wants to learn more just go to www.SolarJoules.com and fill out the request form.”

Group to be Led by 5-Term Congresswoman
The leading U.S. solar electricity module manufacturers and systems integrators announced today that they had joined forces to form The Solar alliance and appointed the Hon. Claudine Schneider, former five-term U.S. congresswoman from Rhode Island, as the group’s first president.
The Solar Alliance will focus its efforts on supporting state lawmakers, regulators and utilities in their efforts to establish more effective solar policies and programs throughout the United States.
Inaugural members of The Solar Alliance include: American Solar Electric, BP Solar, Conergy (CEYHF.PK), DT Solar, Energy Innovations, Evergreen Solar (NASDAQ ESLR), First Solar (FSLR), Kyocera Solar (NYSE KYO), Mitsubishi Electric, MMA Renewable Ventures, PPM Energy, Inc. REC Solar, Sanyo Energy (TYO-SANYY), Schott Solar, Sharp Solar, SolarWorld, SPG Solar, Sun Edison, SunPower (SPWR), Suntech (NYSE STP), United Solar and Xantrex (XTX.TL).
“Solar energy has captured the imagination of a diverse group of businesses and homeowners around the country as a way to gain control over electricity prices and contribute positively to the environment at the same time,” said Claudine Schneider, President of The Solar Alliance. “We want to offer our experience and assistance to the governors, state legislators and regulators as they devise policies and programs to respond to the growing demand for solar by their constituents. It is also our intention to form coalitions with corporations, grass roots organizations, academic institutions as well as local governments that advocate solar energy so that we may all speak with one, stronger voice.”
“We are extremely grateful to have been able to attract such an experienced policymaker as Claudine Schneider to be our president,” said Mark Farber, vice president of strategic planning for Evergreen Solar and chairman of the board of The Solar Alliance. “In addition to her five terms in Congress, where she authored legislation that advanced energy efficiency and renewable energy in the U.S., she has been a strategic advisor to a variety of renewable energy groups, including National Grid, EPA Climate Leaders, the Center for Resource Solutions, the American Solar Energy Society and the Climate Institute. Her experience and contacts will be invaluable to us as we work to help the states adopt cost-effective solar policies.”
In addition to its efforts with the states, The Solar Alliance works closely with the Solar Energy Industries Association and supports that group’s efforts to pursue solar policies on a national level.

Here’s the link to send Congress Their Global Warming To-Do List!
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/110703372?z00m=9841315
“The House and Senate must reconcile the differences between their energy bills. And while the Senate has passed a renewable standard three times in prior sessions, a few Senators this session ardently oppose these standards.
To help combat global warming, the new Energy Bill must include a 35-mile per gallon fuel economy standard AND a 15 percent renewable electricity standard. The Union of Concerned Scientists has shown that stronger fuel economy and renewable energy standards are technologically feasible, will save money for consumers, will create American jobs and can reduce global warming.
Tell Congress to reduce U.S. dependence on oil by increasing fuel economy and clean, renewable electricity today!”

General Motors is becoming part of the solution. Article and link below.
http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/prnewswire/NEF04714092007-1.htm
BALTIMORE, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Constellation Energy today announced that its subsidiary, Constellation Energy Projects & Services Group (CEPS), has signed an agreement with General Motors Corporation to construct a solar power system that will generate approximately 870 kw of power and supply nearly half of the power requirements at GM’s 300,000-square-foot Service and Parts Operations warehouse in Fontana, Calif.
Constellation Energy will own and operate the rooftop system and provide power to the GM facility under a 25-year power purchase agreement.
The photovoltaic solar installation, one of the largest of its kind for a corporate customer, will feature 6,400 UNI-SOLAR(R) solar panels. GM estimates the project will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 355 metric tons annually and reduce electricity costs by approximately 10 percent.
“At General Motors we understand that good environmental decisions are good business decisions and solar energy is a perfect example of this,” said Elizabeth A. Lowery, GM vice president, Environment, Energy and Safety Policy. “The new solar arrays on our rooftops are reducing our energy costs and carbon footprint, while providing green energy to the community.”
“These projects represent cost-effective and turn-key energy management solutions because Constellation constructs, owns and operates the on-site renewable systems and customers enjoy stable, long-term energy prices,” said Gregory Jarosinski, president of Constellation Energy Projects & Services. “Environmental leaders like GM recognize that with today’s technology and the expertise of a skilled energy partner, sustainable solutions make sense economically and environmentally.”
In August, Constellation Energy announced the completion of its first solar photovoltaic system in partnership with leading aluminum manufacturer Alcoa and DEERS, owner of the patent pending solar rooftop attachment design. The new system — a 588,000-watt, roof-mounted photovoltaic solar power system — recently began operation at the Alcoa Building and Construction Systems’ Kawneer manufacturing facility in Visalia, Calif. Power is generated by more than 4,300 UNI-SOLAR(R) solar panels.

Every single hour of every day the amount of energy that falls on the earth from the sun provides us with enough energy to meet the electricity demands of the population of the earth for an entire year.
Why is it that we do not utilize this power?
In some ways, we are.
Solar power already provides the electricity to power many products that are used every day; from small household products such as calculators and landscaping lights to bigger items we see everyday such as street signs. Even huge projects such as satellites are powered by solar energy. But why do so few homes use solar energy for their electrical needs. Why do we use coal, natural gas, and nuclear sources instead of clean, renewable energy from the sun?
Quite simply, it is the cost.
Up until now harnessing the power of the sun was only economically viable for the wealthy or those willing to take out long term loans in hopes of the cost savings paying them back in the future.
Now that is all about to change.
A company called Citizenre is building one of the world’s largest solar panel production facility. Their business plan is to pay to install, optimize and maintain state-of-the-art solar systems on their clients houses. Citizenre clients will pay only for the energy their solar systems produce. Because utility rates can be very confusing (summer-time rates are often different than winter-time rates, and many utility companies use tiered pricing - the more that you use, the higher your kilowatt per hour charge) Citizenre decided to make billing simple. The price charged per kilowatt hour will be the same no matter what time of the year or how much is produced. Better yet Citizenre is going to allow clients to lock in their rate for up to 25-years.
Another way to explain how this works would be to say that home owners rent the solar panel systems. The only upfront cost is a nominal security deposit (usually $500 and refundable with interest at the end of the rent agreement).
Citizenre is responsible for the cost to maintain the systems. A net meter system will integrate with each customer’s current utility provider to assure no power interruption to the customer if the system fails (maybe because its night or a cloudy day). The net meter turns backwards to create credit for energy used at night and other periods of less sunlight throughout the year.
The customers pay nothing upfront. The rental rates will be about the same or less than their current electric bill. By locking the current rate in for a period of years ensures that every customer can now use solar energy at a cost less than their current utility provider.
Believe it. Now anyone that can afford his or her electric bill can make the switch to solar and “go green” saving money along the way.
Get in line though. Demand is out-pacing supply. These systems will go up on houses just as fast as the solar panels are built. If you want a solar panel system on your house, or just want an engineer to come to your house for a suitability assessment, you need to get in line now.
Citizenre is now accepting reservations from interested parties. When the photo voltaic solar panel system is available, Citizenre will begin to deploy product on a first come, first served basis from the reservations received. Making a reservation does not commit you to the system.
Once the product is ready, Citizenre will contact you to set an appointment to meet with a solar technician. The technician will design a system that will meet up to 100% of the electricity needs of the house. The customer reserves the right to approve the system. When the customer approves the configuration of their solar panel array, the deposit is collected and Citizenre will install the system with no other upfront costs.
